Artist's Description

The God Cernunnos is an ancient European god directly associated with divinity, wealth, animals, and hunting. Cernunnos is also indirectly associated with regeneration, healing, fertility and death. The deer head perhaps represents the cycle of fertility, symbolized by the shedding of antlers. Thus, Cernunnos is a symbol of the winter solstice: the regeneration of the sun and renewal of life.
